On June 1, 2007, a comfortable majority of the Folketing (the Danish Parliament) passed an act that involved the dissolution of Frederiksbergbaneselskabet (The Frederiksberg Railway Company), the Ørestad Development Corporation and Port of Copenhagen, Ltd. The Ørestad Development Corporation was divided into two new corporations in public ownership: Metroselskabet and CPH City & Port Development.
CPH City & Port Development is responsible for the development of areas in Ørestad and Copenhagen Harbour. Ownership of the Corporation is split between the City of Copenhagen (55%) and the Danish State (45%).
